Craig Did It!

Today my friend Craig Honeycutt completed an amazing feat. One year ago he started publishing one video a day on YouTube. His goal being to play a different song every day for one year. Most songs were covers and some were originals.

Talk about living in public. There are 365 individual visions into Craig's life, complete with soundtrack and with a backdrop that ranged from bedrooms to mountain tops. Craig literally traveled the world without more than a few bucks in his pocket, sleeping on couches and accepting food and drink in exchange for song.

I could tell you more about it, but I'd strongly recommend you watch for yourself.

Watch the very first video, then watch his last two videos which include a summary speech and a final song. He'll be back, but as you can imagine, he needs a break. Think about what it would be like to have to learn a new song every single day and then record it and upload it. Wherever you are!

If you like what you see in the above three videos, watch more. There is a good chance Craig covered your favorite song. And I bet he did a great job with it too!

Craig, if you see this - Congratulations! You did it. And Happy Birthday!

What Teachers Make

Watch this video. Thank you Seth Godin for turning me on to this one. As a parent wondering what my child can expect from the school system he's going to embark upon soon, this video gives me hope.  I just hope there are teachers out there that believe what this poet, Taylor Mali says.  I know when I was growing up there were a few.

April Fool's Day

posted by Larry Weintraub

April Fool's Day is like Christmas on the Internet. You wake up early and excited; ready to unwrap presents in the form of numerous pranks on websites.

The best present is always Google. You can always count on them to apply great minds to give you an in depth April Fools stunt that makes you ask, "is this real?" Today was no letdown. Google was officially renamed Topeka in response to Topeka's recently renaming of their town, Google.

Click on the word Topeka and it takes you to a story about why Google changed it's name.  Complete with pictures, deep links into a continuation of the story and even some great graphics on how to use Topeka in a sentence.

Next up is Funny or Die who today renamed themselves Bieber or Die after the kid sensation that has the number one album in the country this week, Justin Bieber.  Very well done.  I recommend you watch some of the videos, they are very funny.  Of course, make sure you ask your kids who Justin Bieber is first or else it will be completely lost on you.

Following a similar path with a website takeover.  Talk Soup host Joel McHale took over American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's website and renamed it JoelMcHale.com.

Zappos got into the action too.  CEO Tony Hsieh claims to be suing Disneyland because Zappos is now the happiest place on earth.

And finally, one of my favorites.  I love the band Jimmy Eat World.  I follow them on Twitter and today they announced that they had a brand new song.  So I clicked on the link and, well, I was surprised.  Albeit pleasantly.

I know there are a ton more of these.  Hope you had fun finding them too.

Merry Christmas!
