Feeling Whole

Over the past few weeks we've hired some great new people at Fanscape. It is a tremendous feeling knowing that you finally have a crew that truly completes your company. That is exactly what it feels like right now.
First we hired Lori Dicker. Lori's title is Vice-President, Interactive Media. What th
at means is that Lori oversees our entire Marketing department which encompasses all of our service offerings. Before she joined us, Lori had been VP over at Ascent Media and before that she was GM of the LA office of Organic. We're truly honored to have her with us and I personally am ecstatic to have her take over many of the responsibilities that I had weighing on my shoulders much of this past year.
When Lori started, I had her do something that we've never been able to do at Fanscape. She did one job and one job only. HIRE! Yep, usually when a new employee starts we immediately throw them head first into the millions of things we have going on and before long their head explodes and they have lost complete sight of what they were hired to do. So, with Lori, we decided to close her off from everything else except finding the missing pieces in her department.
First hire was Michael Francesconi. Hailing from the mighty Huffington Post, Michael is in charge of our entire Social Media Marketing department. If there is one thing he knows, it's Social Media. Arianna made sure of that! He's a very cool guy who sports a huge Obama poster in his office and plays street basketball downtown at skid row.

Second hire was Lori Hlad. We needed an Account Director with true agency experience. Someone who had worked in the big leagues and could help us as we navigate our growing list of major brand accounts. And Lori is our savior!
So why am I posting about this? Because I'm proud. Proud of the fact that my company... my family... is nearly complete. I'm starting to feel whole!

I see much in life as a possible business. It is exciting, but also torturous. I just don’t have enough time. A new idea often sends me into hours of thought, research, and ultimately deviation from what I really need to do in a day. I believe that the Internet has made it easy for anyone to create a business. I believe that the Internet has made nearly everything in life easier. I believe that trying to impact the masses is a tough notion, but finding a group of people similar to you, is at your fingertips. I believe that music is free, and that is not a good thing. I believe that life is a collection of experiences and that every day I learn something new and forget something slightly new.
